Description
Located on the Land Between the Lakes NRA, this 80' Aermotor LS-40 tower with a 7'x7' metal cab and wooden steps is also known as Model Tower. The tower was constructed for the Tennessee Division of Forestry (TDF) around 1954. The land that it was built on was leased to TDF in 1954 from the Heath and Molloy families. The tower is still utilized today for fire detection.
