The North Cabin Fire Tower is a 80' Steel Pivot Base mast that was constructed in 1934. The tower was outfitted with a standard plywood cupola painted in the white and red paint scheme. At the base of the tower as a small cabin for the tower observer to live in during their service.
In 1956 the tower was upgraded with a new, slightly larger cupola to help with upkeep. In 1989, the North Cabin Fire breached the tower site and burnt the cabin, cupola and twisted the steel tower. The site was rebuilt over the summer of 1990.
As of 2013, the Province of Saskatchewan has moved to a camera monitoring system for fire detection. That being said, the North Cabin Tower is still standing. Through the cabin is no longer on site. The tower is fenced off but is well maintained.
