Lookout Details
Description
Located on one of the highest peaks (1066') in the country. It overlooks the whole country, parts of neighboring countries and parts of Sweden. Linnekleppen is the only fire tower still in use in Norway. It is a 56' four-legged reinforced prestressed concrete tower with wood cab on top. The first lookout was constructed on the site in 1908, and was replaced by the current and more modern structure in 1935. Linnekleppen is a popular outdoor recreation destination, and can be reached by trail from state road #124, 2.2 miles south of the lookout.
