Description
In 1940, the Barbour County Board of Revenue requested the AFC to establish better fire tower coverage. In response, the AFC built this 100' Aermotor MC-39 steel tower with 7'x7' cab in 1941. By 1944, four fire towers were operating the county, completing the planned system.
The tower was sold by the state in a surplus auction around early 2020.
