Description
Situated on the highest point on the shoreline of Lake Martin, Smith Mountain Fire Lookout Tower is an 82’ Aermotor structure with a 7’x7’ cab and ranger station nearby. It was constructed by the WPA in 1938, and is now under restoration. See article link below.
