Description
Standing at 9,224' directly above Flagstaff, AZ, Elden Lookout is easily reached by trail from downtown. A 37' Aermotor tower was erected on the site in 1926 and served until damaged by the Radio Fire of 1977 which burned to the crest. The present 54' metal tower with a metal CL 100 live-in cab with catwalk was constructed in 1977. This Peaks Ranger District lookout is in active service.
