Angora Ridge Lookout is now closed but still stands although trees now block part of the view. The site, which first went into service in 1914, is managed by the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit (USFS). It is unique in that all three lookout ground houses built there over the years have been maintained and retain their original designs.

Comments: | My kids and I visited the Angora Lookout located on the ridge just east of Fallen Leaf Lake, CA. One of the shutters for a window on the garage (southern most building) fell off. This would be on the west side of the structure. We were at the Angora Lookout sometime during the first week of Auguest.

Other than that, looks okay. Beautiful decks that have been recently replaced. Had a great time looking at the stars on several evenings. |
