Bolivar Lookout is located on Craggy Peak. The cabin is a CL-100 all steel design on a 9 foot block tower and replaced the previous structure in 1960. The roof had blown off the original structure, it was replaced by a temporary tent and construction commenced on the new structure in late 1960.

The previous cab was a California Region 5 Plan BC-302 that was in place prior to 1939. The Southern Pacific Railroad deeded the property to the Forest Service in 1939.
