Description
The original tower at Breckenridge Lookout on the Sequoia National Forest was built in 1912 as a tree stand with a small, partially-enclosed cab. It was replaced in 1938 with a wooden tower with an L-4 cab. The present L-4 with catwalk on a 40' steel tower was constructed in 1942. Used as an aircraft warning site in World War II, the lookout is in active service.
