Description
One of the last to be built by the CCC in California, Hirz Mountain Lookout was constructed in 1937 on the Shasta National Forest. It is a 14'x14' BC-3 live in cab. In 1949 it was raised on a 20' steel tower with catwalk. Restored in 2005 as a Forest Service Centennial Event in partnership with the Forest Retirees Association and the National Forest Foundation, it is now on the cabin rental system.
