Description

Jordan Peak Lookout has hosted a lookout since at least 1923. The current structure was constructed in 1934, a Region 1 cabin on a 20 foot X-Brace steel tower. The tower was modified and enclosed in 1970.

Inactive in 1999 and 2000, Jordan Lookout returned to active service in 2001. With an excellent view of the Tule River drainage in the Sequoia National Forest, the lookout covers a growing second home interface area. Constructed in 1934 on a 20' steel tower, the L-4 cab with catwalk has been modified. In 1970 the tower was enclosed with metal siding. It is accessible only by trail.

Jordan Peak was destroyed by fire during the SQF Complex Incident, September 14, 2020.
