Description
Slater Butte Lookout was originally constructed in 1933. A California Region 5 version of the L4 cabin with prop up shutters on a 22 foot enclosed timber tower. The cabin may have been modified or rebuilt at some time to the BC-1401 1949 revision of the BC-301. New shutters were installed in 2012.
Lookout Operator, Barbara Geidel completed her 11th season at Slater Butte in 2019.
