This 55' tower with CL style 14' x 14' cab and catwalk was constructed in 1960. It replaced a wooden fire tower built by the CCC in 1938.
As of 2019, the condition of the tower, roof and cab are good. It is staffed by volunteers

Comments: | Tower was in great shape. Brand new paint, no rust on tower. Inside was spotless even the windows. Original footings are still in place. Plus there is an old garage they converted in to a vistors center. It is in great condation. Also the Forest Service built a brand new composting bathronn on site. |

It was a great surprise to drive over 200 miles one way just to see this lookout and to find the tower staffed. The Vol was great, he aswered all my questions to the best of his knwoladge.
