Description
The first Eightmile Mesa Lookout on the San Juan National Forest was 14'x14' wooden cab built by the CCC in 1941. It was replaced by a CL 100 metal cab with catwalk on a 30' tower in 1963 and is used in emergencies.
As of 2019, the condition of the tower is excellent and needs no work. The condition of the cab is good and needs “some work but very minor”. Condition of interior “needs work, but very minor, just cleaning”.
