Description
Designed in 1911 before lookouts were standardized, Leon Peak Lookout on the Grand Mesa National Forest is constructed of logs and corrugated sheet metal. It was abandoned after a few years due to frequent lightning, but after 100 years of severe weather the well-constructed log frame still stands.
