Description

Park Point Lookout in Mesa Verde National Park was constructed in 1939 by the CCC using a special rustic design to blend with the surrounding summit. It has a unique 17' octagonal floor plan. The lookout is constructed of native sandstone, quarried on Chapin Mesa and worked by hand to emulate the stylistic appearance of other Modified Pueblo Revival buildings in the park. It is also an example of the 1920s National Park Service Rustic style that adapted structures to blend with their immediate landscapes.

As of 2019, the condition of Cab is good but could use some painting and repair to walkway around the LO”.  The interior “floors could use a refinishing and rewiring of electronics”.
