Description
This 100-foot steel Aermotor tower was built in 1937 with CCC labor. The tower features a 7'-by-7' cab and its construction was sponsored by the Grand Bay Timber Protective Association.
Wooden steps on the tower were replaced in 2003 by Georgia Forestry Commission personnel. Windows were replaced and the exterior repainted in 2020 by contractors.
As of 2020, the tower remains in active use due to restricted airspace around nearby Moody Air Force Base.
