Description
The original Coolwater Lookout on the Nez Perce National Forest was a 12’x12’ frame cabin built in 1915, and replaced by a 14’x14’ log cabin in 1931. In 1936 a gable-roof L-4 was built on the summit, and then moved 100’ in 1953 to make room for the current hip-roof L-4 with catwalk on a 10’ wood tower.
