Description
Grave Point Lookout overlooks both the Salmon River and the Hells Canyon on the Nez Perce National Forest. The 41’ timber tower with a 1936-model L-4 cab with catwalk was built in 1954, replacing a log cupola cabin built in 1924. Grave Point sits above both the Salmon River and the Hells Canyon area of the Snake River. The lookout was used as a site for hacking falcons for several years.
