Description
Located six miles northwest of Burnt Knob in the Nez Perce National Forest is Green Mountain Lookout. The first lookout on the site was a cabin built in 1930. The current L-4 tower with catwalk was constructed in 1956. While not regularly staffed since the early 1970s, it is frequently used on an emergency basis given the high fire frequency of the area.
