Lookout Details
Description
Lunch Peak Lookout is the last modern day lookout on the Sandpoint District of the Idaho Panhandle National Forests. The first lookout on the site was a hip roof L-4 cab on a 50’ pole tower built in 1937. In 1971 the current 15’x15’ flattop cab with catwalk on a 10’ concrete base was constructed and remained in service until 1985. The lookout is now in the cabin rental program and will be listed in the National Lookout Register until it is 50 years old.
