Description
The first lookout on Peck Mountain in the Payette National Forest was a roofed 6' x 6' platform with a 6' x 8' ground house. It was constructed by the Southern Idaho Timber Protective Association. In 1935 the CCC constructed the 74' Aermotor steel tower with a 7' x 7' metal cab, along with a ground cabin and garage. The topped tree survives next to the tower.
