Description
The first lookout facility on Rock Rabbit Mountain (1929) consisted of a tent camp and tree platform (which remains today). In 1937 the Rocky Mountain style log cabin and a 46' Aermotor steel tower with 7' x 7' cab were added. The tower was removed in 1981 but the other structures remain. The site is within the Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness on the Payette National Forest.
