Description

Built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1937 in what is now designated as the Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness within the Payette National Forest in central Idaho, Rush Creek Point Lookout is an unusual structure. Similar to an L4, it is actually an R4 plan #80 15' x 15' cab fitted with a pyramid roof. Rehabilitated once and used only by wilderness patrols since 1986, the lookout is still in reasonably good condition. But it does need maintenance. Access is only by trail.
