Description
Constructed in 1927 using the "Nez Perce Log Lookout House Plan,” Sourdough Peak Lookout is unique. Although the blueprints called for a 16’ x 14’ structure, the builder modified it to 15’x 15’ and added windows all around. In 1994 and 1995 the Nez Perce National Forest conducted a complete restoration as a Passport in Time Project using skilled volunteers and Forest Service personnel.
