Split Creek Point Lookout and residence cabin were constructed in 1933. The lookout structure was an Aermotor 7x7 observation cabin atop a 72 foot X-Brace open steel tower.
The lookout tower was disassembled in 2008 with the residence cabin remaining at the original site.
The lookout cab was relocated to the Central Idaho Historical Museum in McCall, Idaho and may be toured by visitors.
