According to Dean Alger's book, Indiana's Historic Fire Towers.  The Cincinnati Fire Tower was erected prior to 1940 on property leased by the State of Indiana. Over 85 years later, this tower is now in complete disrepair. The tower's cabin is still on top of the structure, even though the cabin's roof and floor are missing. Wooden steps on the tower's stairways are rotten. Further, the wood planks on the tower's various landings are rotten as well. Climbing the tower is definitely unsafe, and even visiting the tower is illegal without landowner permission.
