Ouabache (pronounced O-bah-chee) Fire Tower was constructed in 1935 (per onsite signage) by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). The tower in located in the northeast part of the state of Indiana south of Fort Wayne near the city of Bluffton in Ouabache State Park. Some references may use the name Wells County Fire Tower as this state park was originally the Wells County State Forest. It was refurbished in 2019 using funds raised by the Friends of Ouabache State Park.
