The 90-100 foot tall Weed Patch Hill Fire Lookout Tower was constructed in the 1927 (or 1930s based on signage at site) atop the tallest point in Southern Indiana and third-highest named summit in the state. Originally built as a fire lookout, today it is used as both a communications tower and an observation tower for the public visiting the state park. The tower is a popular attraction as it is easy to access and located along the main road through the state park.
It appears to be in good shape as of March 2015, though the cab is inaccessible.
