The Bald Knob Fire Tower was built in 1937 by the CCC as the Wildland #2 Tower. It was originally located on a hard-to-access part of the Kentucky Woodlands National Wildlife Refuge and managed by the state forestry division. The 80' Aermotor tower with 7'x7' metal cab is now owned by the U.S. Forest Service on the Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area,
