Jacob Peak Fire Tower was is a 60-foot steel internal stairway tower constructed in 1934. It is not the first tower at this site.
Minnesota state forester William T. Cox said of a previous tower at this site in 1920: "The equipment for the Jasper Peak Lookout at Tower was completed and gave excellent service this season. This is perhaps the most valuable observation post in the state. It gives a view over a large scope of country and has saved many times its cost by making possible quick action on fires."
