Description
Nimrod Fire Tower was constructed by the Minnesota Division of Forestry in 1928. The 94’ Aermotor tower with an unusual 6’8” octagonal crow’s nest cab reached by a vertical ladder is the first of this unique style to be listed on the REGISTER. A landmark for canoers on the Crow Wing River, the lookout observes a fire-prone jack pine forest.
