Description
Located at the Airey Work Center on the De Soto National Forest in the south Mississippi pinelands, the Airey Fire Tower was constructed in 1934 by a CCC company with enrollees from New Jersey. The 100’ Aermotor LS-40 tower with 7’x7’ metal cab is a radio relay site and is on standby status for fire detection.
