Description
Fire tower construction has been completed by employees of the Mississippi Forestry Commission on the first Lamar County tower six miles west of Purvis. The all steel tower rises 100 feet among long leaf pines and Forest Service employees said last week that the cat cracker at the Pontiac Refinery was easily visible from a height of eighty feet.
