This 41' treated timber tower with R-6 flat cab, built in 1966 on a beautiful rock pinnacle in the Bitterroot Mountains of western Montana at an elevation of 5900', was preceded by a 20' pole tower and L-4 cab built in 1934, which was used as a lookout until at least 1965. The present lookout was finally staffed again in 1995 for the first time in several years. The lookout has been added to the Recreation Rental program.
