Description
Erected in Hanging Rock State Park in 1938, the original Moores Knob Lookout was a steel tower with a 7’x7’ metal cab. In 1951 it was replaced with a two story stone structure, which was heavily damaged by Hurricane Hazel in 1954. Restored as a viewpoint with the cab removed, it is maintained as a state park hiking destination.
