Description
One of two fire towers remaining on the Cherokee Indian Reservation, Mt. Noble Lookout was built by the Bureau of Indian Affairs in 1957, replacing a wooden tower dating from the 1930s. Unused for many years, the 60’ Aermotor tower with 7’x7’ metal cab, the BIA and the NC Div. of the Forest Fire Lookout Association are working together on a restoration plan.
