Description
Located northwest of Maine’s Ossipee Lookout (NHLR #187, ME#09) Green Mountain lookout was moved from Cedar Mountain, ME in 1922. The original 47' steel tower was shortened to 39' in 1977 with a Maine-style "perched" wooden cab placed on top. Now in part-time service, it is the only such structure in the state.
