In 2012 Saco Ranger District personnel completed a restoration on the lookout. They were led by a Forest Service technician from the Nez Perce National Forest in Idaho with experience in historic preservation of similar design lookouts. The renovation included an airlift of lumber, tools and equipment; the replacement of the tower legs, cabin girders. fascia boards and cross bracing. Hikers were educated about the project with a temporary interpretive sign.
