Description

Pitcher Mountain station was established in 1915 with a wooden tower and open platform. A 25' steel tower with NH standard 10’x10' wooden cab was built in 1925 and destroyed in the Stoddard-Marlow fire of 1941. The state rebuilt it immediately and it is in active service.

Comments: This tower is still in great shape, especially since the Monadnock-Sunapee trail association added a new kiosk at the bottom and added a shorter trail to the summit. There is, however, now a piece of plywood over one of the windows of the tower. Despite this, the tower seems to be fine.
