Description
Located on the El Rito Ranger District of the Carson National Forest in northern New Mexico, Kiowa Lookout was erected 73 years ago in 1923. The 50, steel Aermotor tower is one of only two LL-25 models remaining in the Southwestern Region. The original outside ladder has been replaced with interior stairs. The base cabin was built by the CCC in 1935 and the tower is still in active use.
