The 60-foot Aermotor LS40 tower was built in 1918, replacing an 18-foot wooden tower that had been built in 1909. This original steel tower was blown over in a Hurricane in 1919, but quickly re-erected in 1920. The tower was closed in 1988. It has been repurposed to house a great deal of communication equipment at the summit area of the Gore Mountain Ski Complex. The tower is closed to visitors.
