Description
The first Five Mile Butte Lookout on the Mt. Hood National Forest was a pole tower in the 1920s. In 1932 an L-4 cab atop a 30' pole tower was erected, but it collapsed under snow ten years later, to be replaced again with another L-4 on a stronger tower. This R-6 cab on a 30' tower was built in 1957 and is in the rental program.
