Description
Maintained and staffed by the Douglas Forest Protection Association Department of Forestry, Harness Mountain Lookout was first built in 1949 on a 40' tower and destroyed by the infamous Columbus Day storm in 1962. The following year the present 14' x 14' ODF flattop cab with catwalk on a 50' treated timber tower was constructed and continues in service.
