Description
Three miles north of the Rogue River in the Siskiyou National Forest stands Lake of the Woods Lookout. First put into service in the 1920s as a tree crows nest until a L-4 cab was built in 1933. The present CL-160 metal flattop cab was first erected on Barkalow Mtn. in 1955 and moved to this site in 1974. Now atop an unusual steel I-beam 10’ tower, it is in the rental system.
