Description
The new 41’ fire tower erected atop Spring Butte in the Deschutes National Forest in 1991 may be a prototype of things to come in the Pacific Northwest. The angled treated Douglas Fir pole tower is built to last. It is topped with a new 16’ x 16’ octagonal cab design with catwalk, and replaced an active L-4 pole tower dating from 1932.
