Description
This 90' Aermotor LS-40 steel tower, 7'X7' cab, sits atop a prehistoric sand dune in Sesquicentenial State Park, which was built in 1936 by the CCC to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the founding of Columbia, SC in 1786. The SC Forestry Commission operated the tower until 1993, then later turned ownership over to the SC Dept. of Parks, Recreation and Tourism.
