Description
Built by the Virginia Department of Forestry in the late 1930s, Blakey Ridge Fire Tower was active for only 20 years. The 80’ Aermotor tower with 7’x7’ metal cab was later owned by the Rappahannock Electric Cooperative as a radio site.
The tower was removed in 2018 due to liability concerns.
