This 110' Aermotor tower with a 7'x7' cab was built in 1961 by 13 locals. The hardest part was the aluminum roof. The tower had been brought from Prince William State Forest where it had been since World War II. This tower was manned by Virginia's first female watchperson, Grace Newton.

Comments: | There is some rust on the outside of the building but it does not appear to be too bad. Aerial image indicates that some of the window are missing glass. |

Comments: | This firetower is outfitted with a complete cell tower antenna suite, many parabolic dishes, and possibly an omnidirectional antenna. It is unknown if the antenna are used by the local amateur radio clubs or by local government. |

Comments? | Upon arriving at the site we noticed that there were security cameras installed. With this knowledge we did not approach the base of the tower in order to determine if NHLR signs were posted or any other signs providing directions. |
