Description

Located on the Umatilla National Forest in southeastern Washington just north of the Oregon state line, Big Butte Lookout has been in standby status for a number of years. First established in 1938 with a L-6 cab on a 73' pole tower, it was replaced by the even higher 82' treated timber tower with L-4 cab and catwalk in 1950.
